Hosted by
CAR Magazine the conference, themed ‘Technology & Change’, attracted a 400-strong delegation of vehicle manufacturers, dealers and government and key stakeholders.
“With some of the industry’s biggest hitters gathered to share knowledge and insights into our immediate future, Tracker wanted to use the opportunity to communicate its progressive customer-focused move from ‘metal to flesh’ and our resulting innovative technology offering,” says Tracker’s Dealer head, Ian Adendorff.
He explains that by using telematics and Tracker’s Connected Car concept, the company can now offer its clients numerous other benefits including assisting in a roadside or medical emergency; working with insurance companies to improve competitiveness for clients, through benefits such as excess waiver and premium discounts; and connected services for Original Equipment Manufacturer vehicles, thereby contributing to customer acquisition and retention.
“The Z-CARD
® was a convenient and easily digestible marketing tool to get this message across to our target audience at the conference,” says Adendorff.
Whilst vehicle tracking and Stolen Vehicle Recovery remains the company’s core business, Tracker has evolved into a highly sophisticated technological business offering leading-edge fleet management and telematics solutions to individuals and organisations throughout Southern Africa.
“By combining world-class products and services and feeding intelligent and accurate information back to customers and various industries, Tracker believes that it can truly improve the lives of South Africans in ways that extend beyond only vehicle recovery,” says Adendorff.
Key to Tracker’s success has been the many symbiotic relationships it has established with the SAPS (with which Tracker has a formal partnership), the insurance industry, vehicle manufacturers and dealerships, fitment centres and finance institutions.
“Tracker’s technology does not interfere with the complex electronics found in most modern vehicles and, as a result, the majority of vehicle manufacturers and importers have issued written confirmation approving Tracker as an after-market accessory,” concludes Adendorff.
