Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum is produced using time-honoured traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation since 1749.

“We are delighted to introduce this premium rum that is savoured world-wide and celebrated for its exceptional taste and quality to South Africa,” says master blender, Joy Spence, the first woman to hold the title of master blender in the distilled spirits industry.

All Appleton Estate Jamaica Rums are produced on the world-famous Appleton Estate, Jamaica’s oldest sugar factory and distillery in continuous production. The Estate comprises 4 452 hectares.

At Appleton Estate, it starts with the Nassau Valley which is located in the Cockpit Country in the heart of Jamaica. This lush, fertile land is where the Estate is located and where specially selected varieties of sugar cane are grown. The combination of the climate, soil, and topography of the Appleton Estate make it one of the few types of rum that claim “terroir” and the only rum that can claim a “terroir” that is as unique as Appleton.

In fermentation, a proprietary strain of yeast that has been handed down through generations is combined with water that has been filtered through the limestone hills of the Cockpit Country before upwelling on the Estate. The rums that make up Appleton Estate are produced on both traditional pot stills that are unique to the Estate as well as the more modern column stills. These rums are aged under tropical conditions and then blended by Spence to create a perfect balance.

Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum range is Jamaica’s leading premium rum and is distributed in over 60 countries around the world.

The Appleton Estate Extra 12-Year-Old Jamaica Rum and Appleton Estate 21-Year-Old Jamaica Rum are both presented in beautiful canisters and have a certificate of authenticity.
