Stirton has been on a rollercoaster ride since winning The Voice SA on M-Net on 22 May, having already earned his first major accolade of an iTunes #1 with his rendition of Simon & Garfunkel’s The Sound of Silence from the show.
Of this journey Stirton says; “These have been the most surreal last few months and I cannot believe I finally have the opportunity to start releasing original music. I am feeling very blessed and I hope that everybody enjoys the music I have to share.”
He recently recorded his first original single, What Tears Me The Most, over a number of days in Johannesburg in early June. This heart-warming single was penned by Brit Award winning artist James Bay and is suited to Stirton’s organic, authentic voice and magnetic sincerity.
Talking of his single, Stirton says; “I hope that people are able to connect with the song on a number of levels, but especially a lyrical connection, because at the end of the day music is all about the message.”
Stirton is currently working on material for a full length album set for release in early August.
