Quirky comedian Anne Hirsch once again brought her unique style to the proceedings as host of the show, treating the audience to some interpretive dance as well as her eccentric brand of humour.
Bonang Matheba was the star of the night, walking away with four awards in total, including those for
Most Stylish Female Celeb and
Social Media Star.
But the most exciting moment of the evening by far was when she took to the stage with rapper boyfriend AKA to accept their award for
Favourite Couple. The pair caused a sensation earlier in the evening when they arrived together on the red carpet, making the
YOU Spectacular their first official appearance together.
Expresso presenter Katlego Maboe walked away with the award for
Favourite TV Presenter but lost out to AKA in the
Most Stylish Male Celeb category.
The award for
Sexiest Man went to actor and TV presenter Maps Maponyane, while actress and TV presenter Minnie Dlamini triumphed in the
Sexiest Woman category.
The night’s musical performances were a tribute to legendary artists who died over the past year and included Lloyd Cele doing a cover of
Stand By Me by Ben E King, Thembeka Mnguni wowing the audience with her performance of
You’re My World by Cilla Black and Graeme Watkins doing a version of David Bowie’s
Let’s Dance.
