Sexpo announced this week that its popular Chapel of Love wedding chapel will be included in the show’s Gauteng event at Gallagher Estate from 2 to 5 October this year. The Sexpo Chapel of Love, which wed eight couples in Cape Town earlier this year, will offer daily commitment ceremonies or, for advance booked couples, the opportunity to get legally hitched Vegas style.

“Whether couples wish to commit to one another, tie the knot or simply renew their vows, the Sexpo Chapel of Love will be available to deliver a somewhat different, slightly naughty relationship experience,” says Sexpo organiser, Silas Howarth. He says that the idea struck him to add the Chapel of Love to Sexpo earlier this year while watching yet another celebrity quickie wedding report on television. “There is a certain glamour, a naughty excitement and an impulsive aspect to committing Vegas style and,” he says, “it’s really sexy.”

The Sexpo Chapel of Love will be available for all types of commitment ceremonies, says Howarth, and encourages couples who visit the event to give it a shot. “No matter your preference or persuasion; committing to the person you love has no ‘right place or right time’, instead, it’s about passion, the heat of the moment and the connection between two people.”

Sexpo Joburg will be the event’s fourth instalment, and is anticipated to be the largest event in the series of Sexpos. Last year’s Johannesburg event attracted record numbers, with Cape Town and Durban coming in an impressive close second and third. Organisers expect Sexpo Joburg to outperform all predecessors: “The show has grown by over 300% from last year, Sexpo Joburg 2008 will be bigger, naughtier and sexier than anything we’ve done before.”

Miss Nude Australia Arianna Starr returns as event hostess, while celebrity penile artist Pricasso will be in attendance, showing off some of his artful strokes. The many new local and international stage attractions will also leave the crowds gasping for more.

The Sexpo Chapel of Love will make a photographer available to capture the event, and couples will receive Sexpo Marriage Certificates following each ceremony. Alternatively of course, couples can capture the special naughty day with portraits by penile artist Pricasso. “We also encourage partners to write their own vows to one another – nobody says I love you quite like lovers do,” says Howarth.

The Sexpo Chapel of Love is available daily at Sexpo Joburg from 2 to 5 October this year.
