Magoda started his career in 1982 when he joined
Radio Transkei as an operations controller, reporter and news reader, senior reporter, and news and current affairs presenter. Magoda was afforded an opportunity to train as a journalist at the British Broadcasting Corporation in London. He also worked as an intern at the CBC’s St Johns Radio and Television in New Foundland, Canada. In South Africa, Magoda worked as a news reporter for
Good Morning South Africa.
For a midnight talk show,
Umxholo has 472 000 listeners and the show is on air daily from Monday to Friday between 00:00 and 03:00. Magoda's first show will be on Wednesday, 1 February.
Station manager, Mnci, says, “I have no doubt that Mr Magoda will take the show to greater heights due to his experience as a journalist and a tried and tested broadcaster.”
