The cineplex will feature multi-sensory 4DX, Xtreme, and VIP theatre formats, regular 2D and 3D cinemas, as well as a VIP lounge and in-cinema dining menu. To celebrate this occasion, Nu Metro Cornubia Mall will be hosting a free movie day on Friday, 29 September from 12:00 to 20:00.

Xtreme features large format-screens with the latest cinema audio systems. Dolby Atmos delivers all-around sound, including overhead speakers. Sound objects can also be moved around in 3D space. The sound is combined with RealD projection systems, along with 4K ultra high definition visual quality for Xtreme cinemas.
It is the first cinema complex for Nu Metro to feature all five experiences (exclusive to Nu Metro) under one roof, in a new movie theatre space. Cornubia Mall will house the sixth 4DX cinema in Africa – following Nu Metro’s expansion of this cinema format in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Pretoria over the past two years. KwaZulu-Natal will now have two 4DX cinemas – with Nu Metro The Pavilion having launched in 2016.
4DX features environmental effects (including moving seats, wind, water, scents, lightning, and fog) synchronised with the action on-screen, showcasing films in a format that aims to make viewers a part of the movie.
VIP is a cinema experience with in-cinema dining and a range of prepared meals as well as hot and cold drinks. The VIP lounge also doubles up as an event venue and will be available for hire for corporate and private functions.
Cornubia Mall’s location is accessible from the from N2 highway, the M41, and Cornubia Boulevard. Shoppers will use on-grade parking, normally associated with value centres, not malls.
