A new competition show, Kom ons kamp, starts on Friday, 13 April as a new spin-off of Kom ons braai.
Every week, three teams of campers will aim to become the camping champions. The presenter Paul du Toit, together with a guest judge, will determine who takes home the camp crown. Kom ons kamp will be airing on Fridays at 17:30, with repeats on Sundays at 20:00.
From Friday, 13 April, Johan Badenhorst of Voetspore fame, together with the writer Johan Bakkes and the beer-connoisseur Ampie Kruger, will go in search of 'the best craft beer in the country' in Dors on Fridays. Dors on Fridays will be airing on Fridays at 20:00, with repeats on Saturdays at 17:00.
From Friday, 20 April, Joe Pietersen and his brother Willie, who works as a game ranger, will travel the country to meet people who have dedicated their lives to saving vulnerable species in Veldhelde. Veldhelde will be airing on Fridays at 17:00, with repeats on Sundays at 21:30.
On Friday, 20 April a food show titled Konings van kitskos will air on VIA. Gerhard Steyn and Alvin Bruinders will take viewers to top fast food joints in the country where they’ll meet the individuals behind these diners. Konings van kitskos will be airing on Fridays at 20:30, with repeats on Saturdays at 18:30.
Two new food shows will also start on VIA. From Monday, 9 April, food lecturer and cook Annelien Pienaar will invite viewers (and a host of local celebs) into her kitchen.
In keeping with her top-selling cookbook Boerekos met ’n twist, she will prepare food for contemporary tables. The show, which is also called Boerekos met ’n twist, airs on Mondays at 18:00, with repeats on Sundays at 16:30.
Marinda Engelbrecht joins VIA from Thursday, 12 April for cooking classes. In every episode, she pays a visit to a kitchen novice and shows them how to prepare a feast with basic ingredients. Maklik met Marinda airs on Thursdays at 17:30, with repeats on Sundays at 16:00.
From Monday, 16 April, Edu Hanekom, the owner of The Boer & Butcher in Durbanville, will go in search of an apprentice for his butchery. Two aspiring butchers will compete for the position. Slagmeester airs on Mondays at 17:30, with repeats on Sundays at 15:00.
VIA welcomes Coenie de Villiers to the small screen with his new docu-reality show, Daar’s ’n plek.
On this show, de Villiers hits the road from Wednesday, 18 April to meet society’s outsiders, from prison mothers to cowboys. Daar's 'n plek airs on Wednesdays at 20:00, with repeats on Sundays at 18:00.
