This time around, that station has indicated that Hamman will be accompanied by the entire 5Drive team. Jude van Wyk (sports), Nadia Romanos (news) and Bibi Mbangula (traffic) will join him and producer 'Mad Money Mike' as they kick off the tour on Saturday, 5 September.

The 2020 tour is sponsored by Robertson's Spices and, according to the radio show, promises to be as immersive an experience as in previous years. The team will be uncovering 'hidden gems' and favourite spots around the country.

Spending two days in each of the country's nine provinces, the team will broadcast live while participating in various activities and participating in different cultural experiences. The digital team will capture and share the content from the tour across all the station's social media platforms.

Listeners will be able to engage with the 5Drive team between Monday and Friday from 15:00 to 18:00 and are encouraged to share the best of their respective provinces.

The station says that the tour will begin in the Northern Cape with a visit to Augrabies Falls. From there, the team will be heading towards the North West Province, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu Natal, Free State the Eastern Cape and will end off in the Western Cape by the end of the month.

Some highlights along the way include a visits to the Kruger National Park, Franschoek and the Vredefort Dome. The team will be sampling South African cuisine, including:
  • KwaZulu Natal's famous bunny chows
  • a traditional potjiekos in the Northern Cape
  • umngqusho in the Eastern Cape, and
  • bobotie in Cape Town.
Some activities audiences can look forward to is the team turtle tracking in Sodwana, a night game drive and guided treetop walks in Mapungubwe, says the station.

The team will continue to observe COVID-19 protocols along the way, ensuring that they keep their masks on, sanitise and social distance as far as possible. With local travel allowed under Lockdown Level 2, South Africans are encouraged to support local travel industries, but continue to do so safely.
