The station's on-air campaign urges would-be winners to enter via WhatsApp and, if called by one of the presenters, to answer with the phrase 'stop, drop and party'. Should they do so, they will receive R1 000, as well as become a finalist for a big draw on Friday, 30 October.

The station turns 45 years old on Tuesday, 13 October and, on the day, listeners can expect additional surprise giveaways across the shows.

The month started off with The Roger Goode Show attempting to create a birthday song for the station. This was in the hope that it would get playlisted on the station. Their dreams were 'squashed' by programme manager Siyanda Fikelepi, who denied them playlist glory, says the team.

Fikelepi, however, has assured listeners that the station had a back-up plan for an 'impressive birthday song' that celebrates the station. 5FM will unveil its birthday song on Tuesday, 13 October.
