Botha appealed to Jacaranda FM listeners to support the farming communities and his mission to take much-needed feed and assistance to the Western Free State.

"On Wednesday, 11 November we announced that Good Morning Angels raised R 4 055 000, with a special donation from Andre Erasmus and his network of over 40 friends [which was] a further R945 000," says Martin Bester, Jacaranda FM Breakfast Drive's presenter.

"[This] made the total amount raised R 5 000 000 in just over two weeks. It's a spectacular gesture of humanity and, more importantly, our community knows that by helping our farmers, we are future-proofing our families' lives as well," adds Bester.

"Mr Gys Olivier, chairperson of the Hertzogville Farmers Union, will distribute aid according to farmers' needs. Donations will also be used to purchase fire-fighting equipment so that we can ensure that this level of devastation never impacts our farmers again," concludes Botha.

Information about the convoy:
On Saturday, 14 November, Bakkies and convoy of trucks filled with feed will travel to 16 Leliveld Street, Hoopstad. The team aims to be there between 09:00 and 10:00. Bakkies Botha and Martin Bester will be available for interviews.

From there, the trucks will take different routes to eight drop-off points: 7 in Western Free State and 1 in the Northern Cape. Each drop-off point will have a reception officer.

From these points, the feed will be distributed. Applications for assistance will be handled by each officer and applications from farmers for assistance will be vetted and answered according to need.

The same process and principals of insurance will be followed to restore the situation that the farmer was is before the fires. Damage will be checked on satellite maps provided from two companies. The process is aligned to the Free State Agri Union.
