From Monday, 14 March to Thursday, 17 June, manufacturing and service industries companies have the opportunity to submit their brand presence for assessment in the Brands section. 

Designers, agencies and companies can enter their projects and campaigns in the Communication Design section.

Winners in the competition will receive the Red Dot Label. The laureates can use the label as a PR and marketing tool to set themselves apart from the competition and generate global visibility, according to the awards.

On Friday, 28 October the Red Dot will publish the names of all the winners online. The winners' section on the Red Dot website will contain information on the design and client and / or brand — as well as pictures of every winner. 

The Museum für Kommunikation in Berlin will also present a selection of the winners in a studio exhibition from Saturday, 29 October 2022 to Sunday, 15 January 2023.

The competition dates are as follows:
  • Overall registration phase: Monday, 14 March to Thursday, 17 June
  • Early bird registration phase: Monday, 14 March to Friday, 8 April 
  • Regular registration phase: Saturday, 9 April to Friday, 20 May
  • Latecomer registration phase: Saturday, 21 May to Friday, 17 June
  • Lists of winners sent: Monday, 22 August
  • Publication of all winners: Friday, 28 October
  • Award ceremony in Berlin: Friday, 28 October, and
  • Studio exhibition in the MfK Berlin: Saturday, 29 October 2022 to Sunday, 15 January 2023.
