RX Radio is an award-winning radio station housed in the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital in Cape Town.

The station is presented by children with life-threatening illnesses and young individuals that share similar struggles.

"Our mission is to spread positivity, create awareness around serious medical conditions, share important news stories and provide entertainment around the clock to comfort our many listeners in hospital wards and public spaces in South Africa and around the globe. We hope to inspire self-confidence and allow our presenters to dream beyond their circumstances," says the station.

"We are in dire need of raising R2.2-million by the end of 2022 to secure our operational costs for the next 12 months and make our station more sustainable for generations to come. With the launch of a crowdfunding campaign, we are appealing to our loyal listeners and members of the public with open hearts to support us," adds the station.

Our station accommodates for:
  • four full-time staff members
  • an intern
  • a mentor, and
  • volunteers and reporters who work behind the scenes to train presenters.

"Starting in 2016, we have trained 135 children and young reporters aged between four and 18, and have kept hope alive for countless patients who have turned their dials to RX Radio," concludes the station.

All donors are eligible for a Section 18A tax certificate issued by RX Radio. Individuals are encouraged to support the campaign here.
