According to the station, the vibe was electrifying.
Listeners flocked to these locations, spreading the word and challenging friends, family, colleagues and even their competition to match or beat their donation — including cash donations — using the hash tag '#GoodHopeFMKCTW24'.
The final handover took place on Saturday, 15 June between 09:00 and midday at the Community Chest Offices at 82 Bree Street, with Danilo Acquisto and the Good Hope FM Hit 30 broadcasting live from the event.
Aside from a call to drop off donations at the station's studios in Sea Point, 2024's campaign saw Good Hope FM broadcasting from:
- HomeChoice in Wynberg and Promenade
- Star College in Bridgetown
- Golden Grove Primary in Rondebosch
- Blouberg Ridge Primary
- Fairview Primary in Grassy Park, and
- Milnerton Primary School.
The station says that over 1 500 blankets, close to 6 000 non-perishable food items and more than R11 000 in cash donations were collected. The total is still steadily rising. This is thanks to the passionate support received from brands like:
- Homechoice,
- ACDC Express
- Lord Charles Hotel
- various schools
- CPT_Bike_Rider social bikers group
- Ford Blouberg
- Pick n Pay
- Von D Juices
- Plascon
- Adcock Ingram
- Skyline Ambition Purified Water, and
- numerous individuals who dropped off their donations.
The team at Community Chest says that it is working around the clock to ensure that these donations reach the recipients, including:
- SOS Village Thornton
- Sikhula Sonke Early Childhood Development
- The Homestead Programmes for Street Children, and
- Aurorah Community Action Network.
