The show says that with Plascon as sponsor, and destination partner Durban Tourism, all the colourful tools to create a happy home were gathered together in Durban.
The 2024 show had over R350 000 worth of prizes available. The show says that the competition winner's names were announced live on the show's closing Sunday, 7 July on East Coast Radio by show director Cairey Baxter-Bruce.
According to the show, One Stop Travel made three prizes available:
- an MSC Cruise for two on MSC Musica
- a pair of rugby tickets for the upcoming Irelands versus South Africa game, and
- two air tickets on Qatar Airlines with a four-night stay in Doha.
One visitor won R10 000 from Plascon's digital treasure hunt, while online fans chose the creative winner of Cricut's 'Design a Bag' competition and the recipient walked away with R100 000 worth in products, says the show.
According to the show, streams of visitors peered into the giant Hirsch's Mystery Blue Box to guess the value of its contents. They popped their entry into the competition box, and it was Tinus Botha who guessed the figure closest to the value of the appliances.
The East Coast Radio House + Garden Show 2024 drew to a close, with over 63 000 visitors having attended this highlight on the city's calendar, which provides an annual economic and tourism boost to the city of Durban, says Baxter-Bruce.
"As organisers, we're committed to supporting local, so we're particularly thrilled with the high level of interest shown to Durban's homegrown designers, decorators, artisanal eateries and entrepreneurs. This city is chockfull of talent, and we're proud to provide a platform for it," concludes Baxter-Bruce.
