This year's East Coast Radio House + Garden Show will focus on the theme of vibrant, functional living, offering a broad range of indoor and outdoor exhibitions aimed at inspiring homeowners and design enthusiasts alike. From kitchen innovations and gardening ideas to culinary demonstrations, the show promises a diverse selection of content.
A dedicated children's area will also form part of the programme, with interactive activities designed to engage younger visitors during the school holidays, says the event.
A key feature of this year's East Coast Radio House + Garden Show will be the Homegrown Hall, which highlights locally produced crafts. Visitors can expect a curated selection of artisanal products, including customised sewing, handmade jewellery, seasonal clothing and lifestyle accessories. The space also offers interactive elements for children, adds the event.
The Foodie Fair will offer a wide selection of culinary options. Visitors can expect a variety of freshly prepared meals, from traditional South African dishes to baked goods and international cuisine. Highlights include a pop-up restaurant, namely Sophie's Café, as well as vendors offering wraps, curries and artisanal deli items such as spices and sauces. The food area aims to provide a family-friendly dining experience that complements the broader exhibition, says the event.
The East Coast Radio House + Garden Show will also feature a curated selection of local beverages, including craft gins, draught beers and regional wines. A live music programme will accompany the social areas, with scheduled performances by local artists such as Matt Gardiner, Tristan Boltman and other Durban-based musicians. These elements aim to create a relaxed, community-oriented atmosphere for attendees, adds the event.
The Outdoor Arena at the East Coast Radio House + Garden Show will present a diverse showcase of lifestyle, automotive and outdoor living innovations. Visitors can explore exhibits ranging from plunge pools and solar technology to electric vehicles, including Volvo's latest model. Automotive enthusiasts can also view the Suzuki Jimny on display, says the event.
The arena will host a variety of demonstrations and displays, including outdoor cooking by the Braai Guys and Spitz Unlimited, as well as plant selections ideal for home gardening. Outdoor living experts such as Patio Guru and Iconic Luxury Furniture will exhibit new product lines for 2025, with additional features from Thule and Padel Court specialists.
This year's East Coast Radio House + Garden Show will once again feature a range of competitions for visitors. One of the most notable is a giveaway valued at over R100 000, which includes a complete kitchen makeover from The Kitchen Studio, appliances from Hirsch's and a R5 000 Pick n Pay voucher. Attendees can enter the competition by visiting the Hirsch's Sound Experience Station during the show. The initiative is designed to engage visitors while spotlighting key industry partners, adds the event.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to enter a variety of travel and business-related prize draws. One Stop Travel and Tours is sponsoring several travel packages, including a trip for two to Mauritius, an MSC cruise and a local getaway to Umthunzi Hotel and Conference.
In addition, Cricut will be running the "Pimp My Skipa" competition, where three attendees stand a chance to win a "Business in a Box" kit — each valued at R30 000 — designed to help launch a small enterprise. Numerous other giveaways will be available throughout the exhibition, says the event.
With the school holidays underway, the East Coast Radio House + Garden Show will offer a range of family-friendly activities, including a dedicated Kids Zone and the Melissa & Doug creative play area. Children can participate in supervised experiences, while parents are invited to join in or explore the rest of the show, says the event. Creative Ceramics will also host interactive sessions where visitors can engage in pottery painting and other artistic activities, offering a relaxed, self-guided experience for all ages.
According to the event, Serta South Africa will debut its latest mattress innovation, The Best of Both, featuring a combination of patented Mira Coil and Pocket Coil systems. Designed for enhanced back support and targeted comfort, the mattress also includes Bio-Care™ fabric technology — an imported textile that reportedly reduces exposure to electromagnetic waves by 98.5%. Attendees will have the opportunity to test the product on site.
