"I'm honoured to be joining Fine Music Radio at such an exciting time," says Vass. "FMR is a cultural jewel with a proud 30-year history, built on the dedication of incredibly talented broadcasters, staff and volunteers. It's a privilege to be part of a station that enriches lives through the timeless power of classical music and jazz."

Vass holds a Master of Arts degree in Research Psychology from Rhodes University and has built a distinguished career in radio and media spanning more than three decades. He began as a radio producer before moving into senior leadership at Primedia Broadcasting, where he served as Programme Operations Manager at Talk Radio 702 and later as Programme Manager at 567 Cape Talk, says the radio station.

In 2007, Vass joined e.tv / eNCA, where he led publicity and corporate communications. Vass played a key role in the launch of South Africa's first independent news channel, eNCA, and managed several high-profile media strategies. His expertise bridges radio programming, communications and digital platforms, adds the station.

His personal love of music dates to childhood, when he studied piano throughout school, a grounding that deepened his lifelong appreciation of classical music, says the radio station.

Looking ahead to his new role, Vass adds, "I look forward to working with the FMR team to preserve the qualities that make this station so special, while also exploring new opportunities to connect with audiences, strengthen our community and ensure FMR thrives in the years to come."

With his radio management experience, communications expertise and passion for music, Vass is well placed to guide Fine Music Radio into its next chapter.
