ProjectNet magazine is the magazine for the members of Project Management South Africa (PMSA). It appears every second month (six times a year), and invites participation form authors and contributors.
ProjectNet is the official magazine of PMSA. It is distributed free of charge to all members of the PMSA. It is a custom magazine addressing the specific interests of this focused community. Besides being a vehicle through which the PMSA National Executive Committee can communicate directly with its members, its aim is also to provide members with a regular source of news; events updates; case studies; opinion pieces; feature articles; personality profiles; and other information of interest to today's project managers.
PMSA members are spread across the various industries in which project management is applied, including construction, engineering and information technology. Because project management is a field that is growing rapidly within most business environments, the PMSA has a greater responsibility than ever before to offer its members value. PMSA, formerly known as PMISA, was formed in 1997 as a National Association to represent project management professionals across all sectors in South Africa. Since 1997 the PMSA membership has increased from 400 to over 1 300 members, who are drawn from a diverse cross section of industries and ethnic groups.
ProjectNet is one of a number of dedicated communication and information channels to facilitate the dialogue between the Institute and its members, as well as between the members themselves.
The following structure is now being applied within the publication: President's Pen – comment by PMSA President; Editorial column - an overview of the contents and current trends; Thought Leadership - tapping into the minds of local and international project management gurus; Global Network – Syndicated PM Network Article (official magazine of the PMI); Industry Insight – A trend article on a PM issue; Academic Corner - An article highlighting current or completed academic research in a project management topic; Opinion – Expert comment/advice on specific topic; PM Profile – Interview with a notable project manager; Cases in PM – Case study of a project success or failure; Reviews – book and/or software reviews; Branch News – Activities and upcoming events taking place at the PMSA branches; and Industry News - Items of interest in the PM industry, including upcoming global and local events
