The drama Home Affairs returns to SABC1 screens for a fourth series starting 3 September at 20:30. Produced by Penguin Films, Home Affairs continues to focus on women’s stories - stories, which reflect the diversity of the millions of women within South Africa.

In the previous series, viewers were introduced to a number of South African women whose lives were very different and yet were linked by the force of synchronicity. Their journeys (and two new female characters' journeys) continue as new twists and turns bring joy; tragedy; fear; and hope to their lives in this rich, emotional drama, which will unfold over 13 weeks.

Home Affairs 4 continues to tell stories, which are intensely real, but also inspirational. They are stories of struggle, but they are also stories of triumph - journeys towards self-discovery; love; and empowerment. They are full of pathos; complexity; and humour, confronting head-on the reality of women’s lives and the unique challenges they face, as well as exploring what keeps them apart as well as what draws them together.

Home Affairs 4 is a story about women, told primarily by women with a talented creative team led by award-winning creative producer, Roberta Durrant, featuring women in key creative positions: producer; directors; writers; and cast.

As a Finalist in both the 2008 and 2006 International Emmy Awards for Best Drama, Home Affairs returns to screens on the back of critical acclaim. The new series continues to be a gripping; thought-provoking; and moving series that illustrates a universal truth: women may come from different races; religions; and backgrounds, be of different ages and speak different languages, but ultimately are not as different from each other as one may think.

SABC 1 will broadcast the series from 3 September.
