Seven leading non-government conservation organisations (NGOs) have agreed to pool their resources, and publish one magazine –
Environment, People and Conservation in Africa. This will inform; educate; and enlighten their supporters (as well as government and civil society) about the crucial environmental issues facing Southern Africa.
Environment, People and Conservation in Africa will bring together a mix of conservation NGOs, and will reflect the diversity of the sector by regular feedback on issues and projects, as well as interesting and entertaining news and provocative views on the environment.
The title aims to reach the environmentally literate and conscious public. Its readers are those that care deeply about the environment; the sustainable use of energy and resources; and products and businesses that hold strong environmental values. The participating partners include: Cape Leopard Trust (CLT); Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT); Game Rangers Association of Africa (GRAA); Southern African Association for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB); Wilderness Foundation (WF); Wildlands Conservation Trust (WCT); and the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA).
The publication’s distribution reaches committed members; supporters, stakeholders; and partners of the above organisations. It will appear quarterly and will have an initial print run of 14 500 copies.
