Trevor Noah returns to The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino for two nights only (5 and 6 March) in his one-man comedy show, The Daywalker. Powered by national radio station, 5FM, this will be Noah’s second stint at The Lyric after his debut run in October proved to be a smash hit with critics and audiences alike.

Billed as one of the most anticipated comedy shows of 2009, this award-winning comedian finally performed his first one man show and did not disappoint. The show was also recorded in front of a live audience and already his DVD has become a bestseller nationwide. With all performances selling out previously, there has been a huge outcry from many who did not get to see it and with the support of the Lyric Theatre and 5FM, Trevor Noah decided to bring back The Daywalker.

The Daywalker sees this prodigious talent at his very best in what can only be described as a masterful performance. Trevor delves into a wide range of topics including the story of his life as a mixed race child growing up in South Africa. This comedian promises to bring back this entertaining spectacle and more. It will be cutting edge, full of punchlines and twists, all delivered in Trevor Noah’s clean cut, no cursing style.

Trevor Noah is undoubtedly one of South Africa’s brightest comedy stars. With only four years of performing comedy under his belt, it is only testament to his ability and talent that he has already earned a place alongside the true heavyweights of South African comedy.

In this short period of time Noah has managed to build an enviable body of work. Noah has performed at all the major events on the local comedy calendar including the Cape Town International Comedy Festival; the Vodacom Funny Festival; the Jozi Comedy Festival; the 94.7 Heavyweight Comedy Jam; and the Blacks Only Comedy Show, amongst others.

It was no surprise when he was voted the Best Breakthrough Comedy Act of the Year at the prestigious South African Comedy Awards in 2008. He went on to be chosen as the only South African Act to make the grade for the international audition of NBC's Last Comic Standing held in Miami in the US.
