Survivor South Africa: Malaysia - who will receive the R1 000 000?
Media 40
It’s been 27 days of hell in paradise for the 16 South African castaways, but who will be Survivor South Africa: Malaysia’s Ultimate Survivor? Amanda, Grant, Lorette and Mandla are the Top Four, and there are only two places up for grabs in the final show. Get ready for the spectacular two hour finale, live from Carnival City’s Big Top Arena on Wednesday, 14 November at 20:00.
The spectacular finale is broken into two separate sections – the castaways’ final two days on the island, including the final gruelling physical challenge and tense Tribal Council, and then the live reunion show where highlights are revisited before host Mark Bayly announces the name of the Ultimate Survivor.
The first hour
Wednesday, 14 November 20:00 - 21:00
During the first hour viewers will see how the Top 4 Survivors were whittled down to the Top two and how the final two days played off on Semangat.
The final immunity challenge will test the four contestants’ endurance and will to survive in the face of unforgiving elements, hunger and thirst. The castaways have to balance on poles in the ocean under the blazing sun and the one who can hold his or her own for the longest will walk off with the immunity necklace which will carry them through to the final.
During a daylight Tribal Council, the winner of the immunity necklace will then decide who they would like to take with them to the final island Tribal Council. With the eagle-eyed jury members looking on, some tough decisions have to be made.
During the final day on the island, the Top two undertake a cleansing ritual in which they pay homage to their fellow tribe mates and prepare themselves for the emotional last Tribal Council. There, the Top two must do their best to convince the jury to hand either of them the R1 Million Grand Prize. But it’s not going to be an easy task – this series was renowned for its backstabbing and deceit and some jury members still hold grudges which could cost the Top two dear.
Then it’s time to vote. This time, of course, host Mark Bayly doesn’t read the votes, instead collecting them and sealing them in the black box, which will only be opened at the end of the proceedings at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena.
The second hour
Wednesday 14 November, 21:00 - 22:00
At the beginning of the second hour, Bayly arrives at Carnival City’s Big Top Arena, carrying the precious black box. Waiting for him are all 16 Survivor South Africa: Malaysia contestants. Before the winner’s name is announced, Mark will take us back on a journey through Survivor South Africa’s most memorable moments. This is also the last opportunity to get answers to some probing questions: Was Semengat Island really haunted? How did Grant manage not to tell the others that he was a lawyer? And, did Hein throw The Skull challenge?
Last year only 300 people could attend the live finale at the M-Net studios; this year close to 1700 audience members will be at Carnival City to witness the announcement of this year’s Ultimate Survivor.
A limited number of tickets for the event are available at Mr Price stores, nationwide.
