This formula, combined with its positive; motivational; and inspirational messaging, has seen the title make a significant market impact.

Khanyi Dhlomo, Ndalo Media MD, says: “The response to Destiny Man over the past 12 months, has been good, despite a tough economic climate. With a limited choice of men’s magazines in the market at the time, advertisers welcomed the launch of the title, and we’ve received a great mix of international and local advertising since then. Reader feedback indicates we’re giving this sector exactly what they’ve been waiting for. This advertiser and reader support confirms that Destiny Man caters for a market not currently serviced by any other print medium.”

Destiny Man has also managed to create a dialogue with its readers, through its interactive platforms on DestinyMan.com and its Facebook and Twitter pages. Readers share their Destiny Man experiences; how the magazine has benefited them; and the indelible mark it’s left on their professional and personal lives.

“Relevant; informative; stimulating; insightful; motivational; and pragmatic are the words that continually appear on page after page of reader response, which also speaks to how Destiny Man has changed readers’ lives. This is very encouraging and something we will continue to do and improve on as we move into our second year,” Dhlomo adds.

The next 12 months will see Ndalo Media further entrenching the brand as the men’s business and lifestyle publication of choice through added-value business and lifestyle reports; special features; extended sports content; and exclusive Destiny Man events, beginning with the July-August issue.

This edition of Destiny Man features some of South Africa’s biggest icons, including cover star Nelson Mandela; FW de Klerk, sharing his lessons learned; musician, Hugh Masekela, on what makes an icon; and Integr8 Group joint CEO, Rob Sussman. The bumper sports section includes exclusive interviews with FIFA World Player of the Year, Lionel Messi; and sporting icons, Doctor Khumalo, Shaun Pollock, Chester Williams and Gary Player.

The July-August issue goes on sale on 16 June.
