The station provides up-to-date news; information; and entertainment to its target audience in the 35- to 49-year-old bracket and secondary audiences of 16 to 24 and 50+age groups.

RSG is the radio station with the largest LSM seven to 10 audience in South Africa. The basic format is primarily talk, interspersed with music made up of a blend of soft pop and rock hits, talk is predominantly Afrikaans, while the music is approximately 60% English and 40% Afrikaans.

RSG is owned by SABC, and was the first radio station to operate dual format- commercial and PBS Radio. The station started out as Radio Suid-Afrika and later changed to Afrikaans Stereo. In 1996, the station re-launched as Radiosondergrense.

The content includes programmes about health; movies; photography; technology; and astronomy.

RSG broadcasts on the 100 to 108 FM frequency.
