After a lengthy period of hard work, the channel was ready to spring a spectacular reveal of the new-look Live Music Show during the live show this Friday, 18 September 2010 at 21:00.

Mzansi television viewers were in for a big treat as the brand-new set; new logo; and, most-importantly, a brand-new addition to the Live team of presenters was introduced.

“The popular Friday-Night Music Show has received a full dose of the Reloaded injection. This is in line with the Channel’s strategy to revive and refresh our schedule compliment to ensure that the brand is taken back to the public in a fresh; more exciting; and sexy way. Whilst it is still early days, it is encouraging to see how positively South African TV viewers have responded to this campaign. We are beginning to see signs of positive growth in audience share,” says Ray Nkwe, Channel General Manager, and the brain behind the innovative Reloaded Campaign.

“The channel will continue to consistently improve on its content offering by refreshing current and popular shows as well as commissioning and launching brand new shows that speak directly to channel’s television audiences today. We kick-started the campaign with the introduction of a revived 18:30 time-slot and will continue to make relevant interventions impacting on other time-slots, including the 19:00 entertainment and 20:30 drama slots.”

The biggest reveal of the new Live is the coming on board of the charming Sizwe Dhlomo as co-host alongside the bubbly Bonang Matheba, with the fresh-faced Minenhle Dlamini doing the roving reporting featuring exciting events around the country.

“I’m obviously very excited to be joining the team of presenters on the show and becoming part of the production team. Viewers should look forward to a bigger and better show,” says Dhlomo.

The reveal of the new-look Live was done in style in a first-of-its-kind experience in South Africa. The first live broadcast between two of SA’s biggest entertainment properties was transmitted at the same time from two different venues. Our viewers enjoyed an exclusive experience and were treated to the cutting edge of television technology when Live broadcasts the launch event of the new Real Goboza live and vice versa. Guests at the Live and RGB launch event in Midrand also joined in to marvel at this unique SABC1 Mzansi Fo Sho experience.

“Everything has got a modern look and feel that promises to set the tone for an awesome evening week in and week out. The new set was inspired by a club feel, a red carpet VIP treatment of note. The latest changes promise to welcome and entice our audiences to a whole new sphere. The opening sequence and music is fresh and phenomenal as is the set,” says excited Beverly Mochebelele, the shows co-producer and Line Manager.

The new slick and glossier season of Real Goboza made its debut on the channel Saturday, 4 September in its new 18:00 time-slot. The show has two new presenters in the outspoken Phat Joe Khambule and the dynamic Brenda Ngxoli. The fast-paced lifestyle show is all about beautiful celebs and what they are up to and promises to offer our viewers a fine balance between humorous and tacky gossip. The show will expose Mzansi viewers to an 'in-depth' and sometimes intrusive look into the sublime lives of our celebrities. The new RGB will feature dazzling events; interesting gossip; scoops; profiles; spoofs; fashion; lifestyle; and much more.

“My team is hard at work putting into place key building blocks and other elements to the Reloaded campaign, which will translate into print ads; radio and TV promos; and an exciting line-up of launch events in the near future,” says Ray Nkwe.
