The brand new show, which premiered on Disney Channel (DStv channel 303) on 29 January and centres around the adventures of 14-year-old best friends, CeCe Jones and Raquel 'Rocky' Blue, after they land their dream roles as backing dancers on teen dance show, 'Shake it Up, Chicago'.
Much like the two lead characters in the show, high-spirited super model, Kerry McGregor, knows all about following your dreams and the importance of having a best friend at your side to help you along the way. Kerry started modelling at 15 and was soon making her mark in runway shows in Paris. Her lifelong dream to become a professional model soon saw her working all over the world and luckily, with her best friend and cousin, Lauren McGregor, by her side.
Kerry’s story of her steadfast friendship with long-time confidante and cousin, Lauren McGregor reflects the journey of best friends CeCe Jones (Bella Thorne) and Raquel 'Rocky' Blue (Zendaya) who rely on each other’s support as they navigate the backstage antics at the show and pursue their dreams to become professional dancers. “She really is my best friend! We’ve been through everything together and are always there for each other, no matter what,” says Kerry, who adds that Lauren even used to join her in New York and London while she was working overseas.
