Sokhulu & Partners visit SABC1

The second season of Sokhulu & Partners is scheduled to start on Thursday, 3 March at 20:30, exclusive to SABC1.
The SAFTA Award winning drama, Sokhulu & Partners (Best Drama, Best Actress and Best Script – 2009), which follows the lives of 3 lawyers, Mabutho and Zweli Sokhulu and their partner, Pamela Thusi returns on Thursday evenings with the partners at Sokhulu more determined to see justice done as they face their own humanity in their quest to protect the rights of those they serve.
“Sokhulu & Partners takes seemingly complex issues of the Constitution and Bill of Rights and simplifies them by giving them a human touch. In essence it’s a simple way of teaching people their rights. We are inviting our viewers to come along with us on a 13-week journey of gripping story lines birthed from the corridors of justice and democracy,” says Vukile Madlala, SABC1’s Publicity Manager.
Mabuto (Melusi Yeni) and Zweli Sokhulu (Thami Africa) - brothers – partner with the vivacious Pam Thusi (Linda Sokhulu) in their law firm, Sokhulu and Partners. Their working partnership is threatened this time around when the brothers clash over their father’s confession to murder and Winnie Molepo’s subsequent blackmail. Will they be able to separate their personal lives from their legal careers? Will they continue to serve the best interests of their clients? Watch as their stories unfold and brotherly bonds are tested.
The audacious, back-stabbing Winnie Molepo (Busi Lurayi) is back with a vengeance determined to take over the Sokhulu and Partners firm. Will her personal life determine the decisions she makes in her career? Will she survive a personal attack from someone she believes she truly loves?
The role of Pumi, the beautiful front of house manager for Sokhulu and Partners is now played by Phumeza Dinati.
The ongoing investigation of Sandile Sokhulu, the brothers’ father, will be examined closely in the upcoming series. Will Mrs. Gordon’s (Claire Marshall) secrets at last be revealed in court? Will the brothers’ integrity be compromised by their father’s death bed confession?
Sokhulu & Partners gives law courts a human face and draws us into the corridors of justice and democracy in a way that creates compelling and not to be missed television viewing.
The cases that the partners take on are real, appropriate and are based on legal case law in South Africa. In this series we go in depth into child trafficking, xenophobia, female chieftaincy, celebrity HIV status revelations, religious possession of illegal substances, international child adoption - and can a young boy really sue his father for not loving him? Keep watching each week as the brothers battle it out in court for justice.

In episode 1 Motlatsi Mafatshe, Xolile Tshabalala and Itumeleng Lobelo play alongside Arthur Molepo in an episode about child trafficking across our borders.
Episode 2 sees Sokhulu and Partners defend a Nigerian national (Anthony Oseyemi) and his wife (Florence Masebe).
Activists ,Tendi Mhloko (Nqobile Sipamla) and Neli Shabangu (Chumisa Cosa) take “The Big Bus” company to task to ensure safety and security on public transport in episode 3.
We bring back veteran actress, Mary Twala, in episode 5, as she fights for what is rightfully hers.
Harriet Manamela stars as Ntombi Ntshebe in episode 6; is she guilty of murdering her daughter’s drug dealer… or not?
Bongi Ndaba, Baby Cele and Bongani Madondo star in episode 9 about a community that wants a female as opposed to a male to succeed as chief.
The screen just keeps heating up in episode 10 as Buyile Mdladla, Ferry Jele and Soso Runqu star in an episode where a young boy is determined that his father should love him.
