The album consists mainly of original, new compositions, written by award-winning international songwriters and includes duets with American superstar, Taylor Dayne (who has sold more than 75-million albums worldwide), Paul Potts (Britain’s Got Talent Winner), Swedish soprano, Hannah Holgersson, and Belgium X-factor Winner, Udo Mechels.

“This album was almost a year in the making as new songs were sourced from some of the best songwriters all over the world,” says Carien Marais, Manager of Il Quinto. “The album was recorded by top producers in South Africa, Sweden, United Kingdom and Belgium. It was obviously a great honour for Il Quinto to be able to record duetts with some of the world’s most successful artists, especially on their debut album,” says Marais. “We had tremendous support from publishers, producers and songwriters from all over the world, who wrote hitsongs especially for the group and also made it possible to collaborate with these top artists.”

Il Quinto consists of five male vocalists from diverse musical backgrounds: Dihan Slabbert (pop tenor), Neal Prins (rock tenor), Dick Moholane (classical tenor), Ferdinand Gernandt (theatrical tenor) and David Phoshane (operatic bass). The combination of pop, rock, theatrical, classical and opera voices, creates the extraordinary vocal ability and diversity of this group. Many of the songs on the album, such as Where does love go, The arms that take me home, My love, and Vincero, are true ‘crossover’ songs in every sense of the word. The combination of pop and classical sounds together with African rhythms within a single song, are brilliantly executed by Il Quinto.
