Dot Serfontein vertelVan Rooy brings us an old favourite that has played to enthusiastic audiences at cultural festivals such as
Die Woordfees in Stellenbosch,
Cultivaria in Paarl,
Die Rittefees cultural week and the
Volksblad Kunstefees.
Like Mikro before her,
Dot Serfontein - mother of the famous Antjie Krog - was no stranger to seeing the comedy in the world around her. Her famous daughter pointed out that her mother would frequently have her in stitches. Dot wrote about her life as a farmer’s wife in Kroonstad, raising chickens and children. It is a real treat. Critics at the festivals have noted that Van Rooy really gets under the skin of Dot Serfontein.
