The Reloaded campaign was introduced with much fanfare in August 2010. The initial focus was more related to programme offerings especially around the channel’s 18:30 timeslot. The campaign was then extended to cover other timeslots including the 19:00 and 20:30 as new and refreshed titles were introduced to the programme schedule. The Reloaded campaign is now changing focus and giving special attention to the channel’s on-air look and feel.

“We are still about the youth of Mzansi, local and rooted, but with a new exciting face. We are Mzansi Fo Sho but with a different, refreshed and Reloaded look,” says excited On Air Manager, Simone Berger.

The new on air look is complete with crisp 3D images and the clarity of sound is amazing. The colours are more pronounced and the viewing experience so much more enhanced. The look and feel has been boosted with more depth and new life infused into the individual images.

“South Africa has entered into a very exciting phase since the 2010 FIFA World Cup and SABC1 wanted to align itself with this new headspace. The current on-air treatment has been there for over three years and put SABC1 at the forefront of Mzansi lifestyle and trend. The new look aims to infuse more currency, attitude, boldness and a greater sense of energy.”

The audiences have changed and transformed over the years and being a youth channel, SABC1 felt it vital to align to the lifestyles of our youth today whilst still remaining true to our local values. The new look and feel will cover all the on air elements, including self-promotion templates, line-up and menu boards, link boards and straps.

“We are very excited at the channel and looking forward to the implementation of the new on air look & feel. We are confident that our viewers will find it very appealing and their general viewing experience enhanced as a result,” says Vukile Madlala, SABC1 Publicity Manager.
