Wild Wild West airs on Sunday, 3 July at 20:35 on Sony Entertainment Television (DStv channel 113). Oscar® nominee, Will Smith (Ali, Men in Black), and Oscar® winner, Kevin Kline (A Fish Called Wanda, Dave), head up a star-studded cast in this tongue-in-cheek action comedy.
It's based on the gadget-laden TV series of the same name – and you can bet your britches the Wild West will never be the same again.
Smith and Kline star as a gunslinger and a master of disguise in this rollicking romp, who team up to save President Ulysses Grant from assassination by a psychotic scientist (Kenneth Branagh – Hamlet, Wallander). Kline also plays President Grant, in a hilarious double role.
Salma Hayek (Frida, Once Upon a Time in Mexico) plays the sultry love interest, and won a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for her charming efforts. The title track from Wild Wild West, sung by Smith, also picked up an ASCAP Award and a Kids’ Choice Award. Directed by Barry Sonnenveld (1999).
