Tumie NgumlaBorn in Port St. Johns, Tumie says acting wasn’t necessarily her parent’s first choice for her. "They hoped I’d become a lawyer or venture in a serious career. But that was never my dream." For 24-year-old Tumie Ngumla, the dream of becoming an actor came alive when she accompanied a friend to the
Class Act auditions and she decided to audition as well. Tumie’s favourite genre of acting is drama and she wouldn’t mind playing the role of a psychotic person one day. ‘’I enjoy the seriousness of dramas, but I wouldn’t mind being in a comedy someday as well,’’ says Tumie, who loves Nicolas Cage and Kimberley Elise, who acts in
Diary of a Mad Black Woman.
Mandisa NdunaHer attitude for the competition and life in general is simply: "If you aint got what it takes, take what it’s got." Mandisa is currently studying Media and Drama at Howard College. In high school she was a part of musicals and school plays, and she even fancied her skills at writing plays. She enjoys poetry, music, and would much rather be indoors than outside watching or playing sport. Should the creators of Tsotsi or American Gangster ever make female versions of the movies, Mandisa Nduna would definitely be the first lady in line to audition for those roles. The 20-year-old Durbanite says she loves strong female roles and her acting is inspired by local veteran, Pamela Nomvete.

When he isn’t writing music, Abdul watches a lot of movies. His favourite international actors are Jason Satham and Leonardo Dicaprio. Locally, Abdul is a huge fan of Vusi Kunene, who played Jack Mabaso in
Generations, and Meshack Mavuso, who plays Vusi Moletsane in
Isidingo. He plans to perform his own stunts someday when he has become a great actor acting in action movies.
