The current issue of SA Sports Illustrated magazine marks 20 years of being the biggest sports magazine in the country. Over the last two decades the magazine has managed to establish itself as a sports authority in print media. Not only was SA Sports Illustrated the first magazine launched in Touchline Media's history, it was also the cornerstone on which the company was founded. Since their launch in May 1986, SA Sports Illustrated has remained on top of its game, proving they can provide the avid sports fan with the finest in multi-sport content. The publication has witnessed many defining moments in sport history, including South Africa's re-introduction into world sport in 1992, our first Cricket World Cup later that year, winning the 1995 Rugby World Cup and the 1996 African Cup of Nations, the two Tri-Nations triumphs, and our gold medals at the Olympics. As a special 20th birthday and anniversary issue, the publication has chosen to highlight a few of these events by reliving some of the top sporting events over the past two decades. SA Sports Illustrated hosted a banquet at the Sandton Sun on 11 April to unveil the new logo and design of the magazine. The event was attended by some of South Africa's top sports stars and select Swimwear models including Lucas Radebe, Mark Fish, Kerry McGregor, Graeme Smith, Baby Jake and Chester Williams. The issue hit the shelves on 19 April.
