In the broadcast Sunday 28 August, there might be eight contestants but there will be over 50 voices on stage! The Idols will be accompanied by the full Mzansi Youth Choir and international superstar James Blunt will be opening the show! Celebrity guest judge for this Sunday’s “bigger-is-better” spectacular, is none other than American R’n’B, Jazz and Gospel star, Chanté Moore.
Here are the songs the top eight have chosen to perform:

Crushanda Forbes will be performing that classic Idols standard, I Believe I Can Fly, from R. Kelly.

Dave van Vuuren chose the Simon & Garfunkel classic, Bridge over troubled waters.

Dené Vorster is doing Jackie Wilson’s (Your love keeps lifting me) Higher and higher.

Erin Fourie picked Put a little love in your heart, by Jackie DeShannon.

Freddie Van Dango’s choice is CeeLo Green’s Forget you.

Kelly Fortuin will be singing the Aretha Franklin and George Michael hit, I knew you were waiting (for me).

Mark Haze went for the Queen anthem Somebody to Love and Lefa Pike selected the Bill Withers classic, Lean On Me.

A reminder to fans who have tickets to the recording on Friday 26 August the show starts at 19:00 and NOT 20:00 as usual, and some tickets are still available from Computicket.
