(Community: Community Affairs)
Stellalander is one of the oldest, if not the oldest regional weekly newspaper in South Africa. It was first published in 1888 and has survived the test of time under various publishers.
Serving Vryburg and the surrounding communities of Bray, Pofadder, Stella, Christiana, Hartswater and Jan Kempdorp, to mention a few, Stellalander's fortunes are also linked to the well-being of the farming communities. Maize farming and extensive animal husbandry form the core of commercial activities in Stellalander's circulation area, supplemented by irrigation farming and isolated mining operations.
Apart from the farming focus, it concentrates on community issues and activities, which it considers a constant source of loyal readership and circulation gains. It is sold on a weekly basis, and available every Wednesday. The content is presented in both English and Afrikaans.
Stellalander has a print run of 4 250 copies and is represented by the Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB).
