(Community: Community Affairs)

The focus on community news combined with an overview on the background of hard news has made the Rustenburg Herald the largest selling local newspaper for the past few years. This is true for both the total weekly sales and the number of pages published - a weekly average of over 100 pages.

The Rustenburg Herald has a print order of 23 750 and has been running for 82 years. The newspaper consists of a main news section along with sections on property, sport and wheels.

The language used to write the articles in the newspapers is a balance between English and Afrikaans, which reflects the composition of the community the newspaper serves.

The Rustenburg Herald is sold every Thursday in areas including Rustenburg, Bleskop, Boons, Boshoek, Buffelspoort, Kroondal, Mooinooi, Swartklip, Brits, Hartebeespoort and Sun City. Special supplements dealing with issues such as the law and health are often included in the newspaper.

The main supplements included are the Show supplement in May and the Christmas Holiday supplement during the last quarter of the year. The Rustenburg Herald is represented by NAB. It is printed on the group's own web press in Rustenburg, which makes it possible for staff to add last minute breaking stories when necessary.
