Absolute Magazine, the free metropolitan lifestyle publication based in Cape Town, announced the imminent launch of their new Absolute Johannesburg magazine. Following the success of the first year in print in Cape Town, which saw circulation grow from 21,000 to 26,000 copies, Absolute Johannesburg will hit the streets on the 1st February 2007.
The magazine follows the style of the Cape Town title, but all content is generated in Johannesburg, making it relevant to the city resident and tourist alike. With general lifestyle content, the magazine enjoys a cross-gender appeal to a wide age group. The typical reader is educated, affluent, owns property and holidays more than once a year.
The content is where Absolute Magazine differentiates itself from others. All articles are specifically commissioned for Absolute and no use is made of syndicated press or previously published articles. The content reflects the lifestyle needs of the reader, including fashion, health and beauty, travel, property, art, décor, motoring and gastronomy.
With 40,000 copies available for the first issue, Absolute is certain to make a significant impact on the Johannesburg publishing landscape.
Targeting the LSM10+ reader like the Cape Town magazine, Absolute Johannesburg shall be delivered direct to houses in selected neighbourhoods. This formula, unique to Absolute Magazine, has proved incredibly successful in Cape Town. Absolute Magazine is also web published, with the entire magazine being made available online on the day of release. The magazine is available for download in PDF format free of charge.
A subscription service covering postage costs is due to be launched shortly.
The revamped website can be accessed at
