DRUM reflects on Caiphus Semenya and Letta Mbulu: a love story
Media 853
At a time when celebrity marriages rarely last, DRUM thought it appropriate to celebrate the union between musical director and composer Caiphus Semenya and his equally iconic wife, singer Letta Mbulu. This year Semenya bows out of the music industry, while Mbulu is releasing her first album in five years.
The two lovebirds met in their teens and were honoured at DRUM’s 60th birthday celebration last year with the 'Couple to Look Up To' award. In the latest issue, they tell DRUM what strengthened their bond over the years and reveal the things they enjoy most in life – apart from their love for one another. They also reflect on the past and on how living in exile affected their family, telling readers what it meant to them to return home.
Readers can also enjoy articles on Spikiri – the founder of kwaito – and wild-child turned calm mom and wife Pushie, who gives an insight into her family.
