“With Streets of Mangaung, we [are] bridging the gap between communities and police and also emphasising that working as a policeman or woman shouldn’t be all gloom and dull. It’s a series with a lot of life lessons and truths. Keeping up with the pace of our evening slots, we hope our viewers will embrace this drama, especially looking at the talent that is on offer,” said Lebo Malete from SABC2 Publicity.

Streets of Mangaung is a fast-paced and emotionally rich crime investigation series that shines a light on efforts behind community policing. It focuses as much on the lives of the police as it does on the life of the station – and as much on the community as it does on their crimes. It is intended as a feel-good series for the whole family despite its gritty subject matter. It will balance comedy with action and human drama.

Tuesday evenings are about to be given a facelift with these new breed of policemen.
