Media 219
Join Makka Pakka, Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and all the other imagined characters from the Night Garden for the fourth series of the hugely popular children’s programme, In the Night Garden. The programme begins on Monday, 10 September at 18:30 on CBeebies, hannel 306 on DStv.
Produced by Anne Wood and Andy Davenport, the creators of Teletubbies, In the Night Garden is a gentle programme designed to have a calming effect on children and to help reduce the anxiety associated with bedtime.
Each episode begins with a child tucked up in bed as Igglepiggle travels in his boat towards the Night Garden. There, he meets the Garden’s many colourful characters, including Makka Pakka, a toy who lives in a cave in the Garden and who loves to wash things, especially the other characters’ faces. There’s also Upsy Daisy, a dolly who loves nothing more than to dance around the Garden, and the Tombliboos, three pepper-pot toys who love to make lots of noise playing their piano and banging their drums.
Narrated by Sir Derek Jacobi, In the Night Garden won a BAFTA Children’s Award in 2007 for Best Preschool Live Action programme.
In the Night Garden begins on Monday, 10 September at 18:30 on CBeebies, channel 306 on DStv.
