For the first time the show has a director, the well-known theatre industry personality, Richard Nosworthy. He says, “This show sees Michael climb to new heights that are rarely, if ever, achieved by entertainers in this country. Visage – Revealing the Secrets of the Mind will blow even the most cynical of minds - the show is utterly baffling and completely extraordinary.”

With Visage – Revealing the Secrets of the Mind, audiences can see firsthand what mentalism is all about.

“The art of mentalism is still relatively new in South Africa; mentalism uses the five senses to create an illusion of a sixth sense. It is an art form that uses mathematics, memory skills, eye movement, psychological suggestion and body language to influence audience members into specific courses of action, says Abrahamson. “Visage means the face or countenance, and as so much of mentalism depends on reading facial expressions and eye movements, the face becomes the window to the brain and the cognitive side of a person's thinking process. It is a vital tool for mentalists to use.”

Abrahamson, formerly a magician, says his fascination with the art started when he was very young. “At the age of six I assisted a magician at a cousin’s birthday party and I was hooked.” His move from magic to mentalism came about when he saw a show presented by a visiting mentalist. “It seemed to me then that mentalism was more like ‘intelligent magic’ and it was exactly my thing.” Also a well-known top sports broadcaster, he has honed his memory skills to astonishing levels and uses these skills every day. When not performing and presenting shows he runs courses in memory, mind-building, study skills and exam technique. These courses, built on his knowledge of writing and studying for Actuarial Science examinations and years of teaching have attained an almost legendary status and are offered to school learners, university and college students, teachers, parents, corporate clients and anyone else who can benefit from acquiring these skills in their day-to-day lives.
