Media 171
Gordon Ramsay has been cooking in professional kitchens for over 25 years. He's been taught by some of the best chefs in the world and in turn taught some of the best. In Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course, he's going to strip away all the complexity, all the hard graft and teach viewers how to cook amazing food with ease.
The series is all about giving home cooks the desire, confidence and inspiration to hit the stoves and get cooking; whether one loves cooking already or one is starting from scratch, Ramsay will get one cooking with modern recipes that are simple and accessible with a 'wow' factor and an edge. It's a lifetime's worth of expertise from the world's finest chef distilled into ten half hours episodes.
Over the past decade, Ramsay has travelled the world from India and the Far East to Los Angeles and Europe and during the series he'll draw all these culinary influences together to show viewers simple, vibrant and utterly delicious recipes that reflect the way people eat today.
Each episode will concentrate on a different area of cooking essential for the modern cook: from the secret of cooking with chilli and spice, through baking, roasting and slow cooking to easy suppers, breakfast, brunches and special occasions. Ramsay will explain the dos and don'ts of cleaning and prepping one's ingredients, demonstrating everything from how to pan fry like a professional and fillet fish to how to get the balance of spices right for the perfect curry. And he'll pass on his specialist knowledge, revealing, for example, how Dover Sole tastes better a couple of days after it's been caught (when the flavour has fully developed) whereas Plaice is best eaten as fresh as possible.
Stuffed full of recipes, invaluable tips and lashings of Ramsay's trademark cheeky wit, Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course is the ultimate cooking lesson from the ultimate chef.
Gordon Ramsay's Ultimate Cookery Course will be broadcast from Monday, 18 March at 20:00 on BBC Lifestyle, channel 174 on DStv.
