The Your Pregnancy Facebook page encourages moms-to-be to connect with one another and chat about pregnancy, labour, birth and newborn care. The page is interactive with questions and queries mostly getting an immediate response – sometimes from the Your Pregnancy editorial team, sometimes from other Facebook users.
“The women on the page feel like they are part of a ‘family’ and stay in contact every single day,” says digital editor Sophia Swanepoel. “Whenever they need advice or information (from morning sickness to hospital registration, pregnancy pilates to breastfeeding while HIV positive) they visit our page, voice their concern and get a response – and then click through to our website YourParenting.co.za to read our thousands of expert articles concerning all aspects of pregnancy and motherhood.”

“Sometimes they just pop in for a chat too … not everyone has supportive partners or someone to lend an ear. The best part is when one of our moms announces she’s in labour – and everyone encourages her and celebrates the birth with her. This is what makes the Your Pregnancy Facebook page more than just a ‘page’. It is a virtual ‘family’.”
