The Girl with 90% Burns, which airs from Tuesday, 27 August at 21:00 on BBC Knowledge, channel 184 on DStv, is a documentary which reveal the incredible story of Terri Calvesbert and her recovery from the house fire that left her with 90% burns and almost took her life when she was just 22 months old.
Calvesbert has an amazing bond with her father Paul, but over the years they have had to adapt as she has grown up. When she goes on her first proper date with her new boyfriend, Paul must nervously step back. She also goes to Los Angeles to meet other burns victims.
This documentary also features the first TV interview with her mother, Julie, who accidentally started the fire when she left a burning cigarette in her daughters room. Julie talks candidly about that fateful night, why she stopped seeing her daughter, and how she feels now they are back in touch.
