The pas de deux is traditionally seen as symbolic of a partnership in love. The principal dancers and soloists of Cape Town City Ballet are set to enthrall audiences with a display of the art of partnering. Prima ballerina, Tracy Li, who made a critically acclaimed comeback to the ballet stage in 2013, will be partnered by Xola Putye in the moving pas de deux from Spartacus. Mami Fuji, who had patrons on their feet after her recent debut in The Sleeping Beauty, will dance with Trevor Schoonraad in the pas de deux from Diane and Acteon.

Pas de Deux will be presented by Cape Town City Ballet in the Artscape Theatre from Thursday, 26 to Saturday, 28 September. Tickets, from R50 to R150, can be booked at Computicket or Artscape Dial-a-Seat on 021 421 7695. All performances are danced to recordings.
