Nicola Whitfield named new editor of City Press’ iMagazine

Nicola Whitfield will join leading content marketers New Media Publishing as editor for City Press' iMagazine on Tuesday, 1 October. New Media Publishing produces the weekly lifestyle magazine supplement on behalf of City Press.
Whitfield has more than 20 years of experience in newspapers and magazines and has spent the past 15 years in Media24’s Family Magazine stable, where she was, amongst other positions, the chief rewriter at Drum magazine, and, for the past three years, the deputy editor at YOU magazine. She also served as editor of the MasterChef magazine, a standalone brand extension for the division, and is a previous winner of the Piet Cillié Award, Media24’s top prize for journalistic excellence.
City Press' editor-in-chief, Ferial Haffajee, says: "We are very pleased at the appointment of Nicola as editor of iMag. Her editing flair and eye for news has been honed in years at successful family magazines and we look forward to her touch in City Press' excellent weekly magazine." New Media Publishing's Elmari Rautenbach, iMag editor-in-chief, says she is looking forward to welcoming “such a seasoned journalist” to the team.
