Vember is no stranger to South African audiences and has entrenched himself in the Western Cape radio landscape since joining KFM as afternoon drive host.

The Kia Take 40 SA is Vember’s opportunity to re-connect with listeners in Gauteng.

“I was born and bred in Cape Town and this is my home but I spent six years in Joburg and I grew to love it, I’m looking forward to engaging with this audience again,” he said.

Kia is excited about the new chapter of this chart show and has welcomed the idea of another household name hosting the show. Kia Motors SA officially welcomed Vember to the family.

Vember grew up in Bellville near Cape Town where he completed high school. His broadcasting career began on the campus radio station, Rhodes Radio, while attending the university in Grahamstown as a BA student.

During this time he caught the attention of a commercial radio station and his career was launched. He spent five years at national youth station, honing his skills and building his profile, before moving back to the mother city in 2013.

“There’s something special about a countdown show,” said Vember. “I’ve always loved staying glued to the radio, waiting to hear that number one track and now I get to share that feeling with my listeners.”
