“A few years ago we made a commitment to evolve this competition and that evolution continues this year with our categories allowing for online entries across the board. The result is that we have media organisations and individuals entering categories they wouldn’t have been able to in the past, which made for a fascinating contest.”

In addition to the revised categories, overall category winners each received increased prize money of R30 000 while the Newcomer of the Year received R15 000.
