The Dan Nicholl Show, enabled by a partnership with life insurance player, BrightRock, will introduce South Africa to a new side of celebrity guests from the sporting and entertainment worlds, in a light-hearted evening of studio banter.
An insert in each episode will include exciting interviews with international stars such as European Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke and Ethiopian running legend Haile Gebrselassie in season one.
Nicholl will be covering the Laureus World Sports Awards in Shanghai on Wednesday, 15 April and filming exclusive content for his show.
The Laureus Sport For Good Foundation is the official charity of the show, and Laureus projects will be featured through the season, as will Nicholl’s fellow Laureus Ambassadors and Academy Members.
Nicholl commented, "Being asked to become a Laureus Ambassador last year was a huge honour. I’ve visited Laureus projects in Rio de Janeiro, New York, Belfast, and across South Africa, and there’s a common, simple thread to them all: the immense power of sport being used for good. My new show will give me the opportunity to support Laureus projects and engage with other Laureus ambassadors".
"It’s a proud moment to see one of our ambassadors at the helm of his own TV show. We look forward to engaging with him in studio and showcasing the work of the Foundation", said Morné du Plessis, chairman of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa.
The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa currently supports 15 sports-based community initiatives nationwide and since its inception it has raised over R50-million for projects and programmes which have improved the lives of more than 80 000 young people.
The Dan Nicholl Show airs on Wednesdays at 20:30 on SuperSport 1, channel 201 on DStv.
