The latest issue of
Wild, the new glossy magazine about South African national parks and reserves, is out now. It’s packed with insightful features and beautiful photography of South Africa’s natural heritage.
The first issue was extremely well received. Editor, Cameron Ewart-Smith says, “It’s clear South Africans are passionate about the wild places in the country, with just two issues out,
Wild has already captured the minds and hearts of readers and the attention of advertisers”.
The magazine is mailed to around 100 000 holders of the Wild Card - the programme that gives members free access to national parks and reserves around South Africa. The readers of
Wild have a passion for nature and an interest in active pursuits like hiking, photography and off-roading. As an affluent section of society they make up an important audience for marketers.
The team at TiP Publishing, which launched the magazine, is always looking for ways to continue the conversation with this community. Every two months a
Wild e-newsletter is sent out to keep cardholders up to date on news and special offers in the parks.
Another unique feature of
Wild is that the children’s pages are translated into indigenous languages. Joan Kruger, editorial director at TiP Publishing says, “It’s important for us to talk to the future generations of the conservation community, so we post these pages on our site www.wildinafrica.co.za
in Afrikaans, seSotho, isiXhosa and isiZulu”.
With a commitment to involving the whole community and a fresh approach to communication. Wild is sure to become as popular a fixture in the South African landscape as a trip to the game reserve.
